Phipps Land & Livestock is a family owned and operated ranch located in the center of Nebraska's sandhills. Our ancestors first arrived in this area in 1886 and have lived here on Calf Creek since 1905. Primarily a yearling steer operation and a cow calf outfit, we also raise quality quarter horses suitable for ranch use, roping, barrel racing, shows, trails, or just great family horses. Our mares have all been raised on our ranch, many for 5-6 generations. They are decendents of some of the greatest quarter horses of all time - King, Leo, and Peter McCue. Crossing these great old bloodlines on current cowhorse and running bloodlines creates a horse that is a true athlete but with the mind to compete in many areas. We have used our horses for everything from 4-H shows to college and high school rodeos to ranch rodeos. Our customers have taken them to the NFR, The American, Lazy E 5 Event Championships, and to remote mountain trails for a weekend of relaxation.
We would be happy to help you pick out a horse that will be well suited for your discipline and experience level. We welcome visitors and would look forward to showing you what we have available.
On Oct. 3, 2011 Phipps Land & Livestock was honored to be recognized by AQHA with a Legacy Breeder Award for 50 consecutive years of breeding American Quarter Horses. See our news page for more info.
